탄소중립이란?

탄소중립은 대기 중 온실가스 농도가 인간 활동에 의해 더 증가되지 않도록 순배출량이 0이 되도록 하는 것으로 '넷제로(Net-Zero)'라고도 부른다. 특정 기간에 인간 활동에 의한 온실가스 배출량이 전 지구적 흡수량과 균형을 이룰때 탄소중립이 달성된다

 

대기 중 온실가스 농도 증가 = 0 / 현재 - 온실가스 배출, 흡수(대기 중 온실가스 농도 증가) / 미래 - 배출량 저감, 흡수량 증대



기후위기 대응 동참

이상기후 발생, 파리협정 채택(’15.12), 주요국 탄소중립·NDC 상향 발표＊ 등으로 국제사회 노력 동참 필요

(미국) ’05년 比 ’25년까지 26~28%→’30년까지 50~52%
(영국) ’90년 比 ’35년까지 78%(기존 ’30년까지 68% 목표 병행)
